Getting a quote
How do I get a quote?
There are two ways. Search for your bearing by part number, click Add to quote on each product and send your list from the Request a Quote page. Or send us your parts list or a photo of the old bearing using the upload form on the same page. Our sales team will reply with pricing and availability.
Why are prices not shown on the website?
Prices depend on the brand, quantity and stock availability, so we quote each request individually. Send us your list and we will reply with the best options for your budget.
I don’t know the part number. Can you still help?
Yes. Upload a photo of the old bearing together with its measurements (inner diameter, outer diameter and width). A photo alone is not always enough, so the measurements help our team match it for you.
Can I ask for a quote on WhatsApp?
Yes. WhatsApp us (chat only) on +27 67 688 4095 with the part numbers and quantities, or a photo of the bearing with its measurements.
Products and brands
Which bearings do you stock?
Ball, tapered roller, cylindrical roller, spherical roller and needle bearings, as well as bearing units, inserts, adapter sleeves and accessories. Browse our product ranges.
Which brands do you carry?
We carry leading brands from economical to premium, including our house brands DPI, RLM, LK and KMB, plus SKF, Timken, NSK, NTN, FAG-INA, Koyo, Nachi, IKO, SNR and RHP. See all brands.
Can you source a brand that is not listed?
Often, yes. Contact us with the brand and part number and we will check for you.
What do 2RS and ZZ mean on a bearing?
2RS means the bearing has a rubber seal on both sides, which keeps out dust and water. ZZ means it has a metal shield on both sides. An open bearing has neither.
Collection and our base
Do you deliver?
No, we don’t deliver. Stock is available for collection from our base in Johannesburg.
We have multiple couriers who collect from us on instruction from our customers, with many daily collections.
Where is your base and when are you open?
43 School Street, City & Suburban, Johannesburg, 2001. We are open Monday to Thursday 8:00 to 17:00 and Friday 8:00 to 16:30, and closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Get directions.
Accounts and company information
Can my business apply for a trade account?
Yes. Download our credit application form, complete and sign it, and email it to sales@generalbearings.co.za. See our trade account page for details.
Are you B-BBEE compliant?
